Greater Love

The mountains that I love to climb for play
In summer sun or when the snow lays white
Would be the perfect place to choose to stay
To dream of all the things that have gone right
I’ve learnt to say my piece in perfect rhyme
And seen my children grow to adulthood
My life was not a total waste of time
I’ve helped my fellow man out when I could
But love and passion now have passed me by
As friend and not as lover I am seen
The thought of this may serve to pipe my eye
As I lay on my mountain so serene
So when it’s on my mountain top I lay
I’ll dream of greater love another day
