Growing

The river starts at just a tiny spring
But grows in size as others join the flow
The seedlings start to sprout each year in spring
To yield the summer flowers that we all know
A mountain starts its life as just a plain
The continents collide to start the race
And agony would grow from aching pain
If I could never see your pretty face
The greatest things in life must start out small
But nature lends each one a helping hand
A baby needs support to grow up tall
And growing close to you is all I’ve planned
The man who grows his love is rich in deed
And you are all the nourishment I need
