Half Moon Street

There’s half a Moon tonight and stars are bright,
My dreams are drifting far away from here.
You’re out of sight but still my thoughts ignite
I may turn round and find that you are near.
Our friends above give happiness a shove
They start to dance to music few will know
Just like a glove its message, filled with love
Fits to my mood and stokes an inner glow.
Perhaps it’s true, true love’s long overdue,
Perhaps tonight we’ll meet and never part
I’ll join the few who haven’t bid adieu
To hopes of two who share a single heart
The half-shone Moon that hangs above my street
Needs just a little light to be complete.
