This New Year’s Eve the world was dull and grey
There didn’t seem too much to celebrate
But evening saw the clouds dissolve away
And silver moonbeams came to change our fate
A shining face to oversee the night
A promise of much happiness to come
She left me with a feeling of delight
I know that next year’s going to be a plum
To all my friends across this crazy world
I send my love and wishes for the best
Enjoy yourselves as New Year flags are twirled
And face the coming months with added zest
To all you ladies and you gentlemen
