A little boy is lying tightly curled
His dreams are filled with tales of mighty deeds
His mother held his hand to mend the world
Her tender kiss is all he really needs

It’s always safe asleep in Mummy’s bed
Where dragons cower and monsters can’t survive
With Dogger in his arms his tousled head
Can cope with all the dangers thoughts contrive

She smiles at him, but feels the touch of tears
There’ll come a day when he won’t be a boy
And then her arms won’t sweep away his fears
He’ll need another’s kiss to bring him joy

But in her heart this man will always be
The perfect little boy she used to see
