Inside her grows the future of the world,
Our foolish hopes and unrequited dreams.
Is everything as fragile as it seems,
When lying in a womb so tightly curled?
The passion of our species has been hurled
To hidden lands behind infernal steams.
We’re left behind to listen to the screams
And will not live to see the truth unfurled.
A mother knows that we can’t leave aside
Consideration for another day,
There isn’t time for man to run and hide,
While someone else clears all his mess away.
While beauty sits and holds what we could be,
Dare we ignore the chance for liberty?
