Hoping never to be found

In a thunderstorm in summer we were sheltered on the seat
Under drumbeats from the heavens watching streams beneath our feet
As the wind began exploring you were cuddled into me
And we swung aboard the weather like a ship abroad at sea
There were flashes up above us and a symphony of sound
We were safely on our swing-seat and we hoped we’d not be found
Then you pulled me even closer raised your lips to meet my own
At the bottom of the path we always said was overgrown
As my fingers found their pleasure in the softness of your waist
I was kissing you forever and I still recall the taste
There were flashes up above us and a symphony of sound
We were safely on our swing-seat and we hoped we’d not be found
Heartless raindrops pummelled roses where the bees had taken sips
While I found a world of romance in the moistness of your lips
And the songbirds huddled closer in the shelter of a tree
There were thunderclaps and lightning in the world of you and me
There were flashes up above us and a symphony of sound
We were safely on our swing-seat and we hoped we’d not be found
When the sun destroyed the darkness and the black clouds slunk away
We were still wrapped in each other in a dream for every day
As the final heavy raindrops played the last notes of the song
We were grieving that the rainstorm hadn’t lasted twice as long
No more flashes up above us and a soft decline of sound
We were still sat on the swing-seat hoping never to be found
