How Not To Succeed

The popular will bend with every breath,
Each passing fad has been their lifelong creed.
A lightweight life precedes, a peaceful death,
And none recall a single worthwhile deed.

You see these fools on TV every night,
They’re all for you, by which I mean for they,
Explaining that their policies are right
But not why they were different yesterday.

An honest man may finally prove great,
When lesser men are shown as empty shells,
If he’s the guts to stand against the hate,
Forgoing fame from offering what sells.

The greatest men that history recalls
Were not renowned for spouting loads of balls!
