The buses never bustle when you’re busy
And dreamers doze and dawdle in your way,
So pretty soon your mind is in a tizzy;
It’s just another bloody awful day.

It’s raining as you’re walking to the station,
The sun comes out while you are on the train,
But there’s no end to cold precipitation;
Arrival means another burst of rain.

The office waits to greet you with a crisis
Or somebody forgot what they should do.
Now kill a goat and raise a prayer to Isis
And hope that that will get you out the stew.

It’s cold and dark and wetter than the sea,
So head off home and get a cup of tea!
