The toughest thing there is to know
Is when to hold or just let go
I know that I will always try
To know the times you need to cry
The times that I should let you be
The times to hold you close to me
To let you rant or just not speak
When you are strong and when you’re weak
Just when to love or when to shout
To keep you safe from fear and doubt
I need you in your happy place
So all can see your perfect face
Just count on me through all the care
I know my job is just “be there”
I’ll never duck or just pretend
I always want to be your friend
