In a different way

It seems when Santa check his list
The name of Jeff at first was missed
Since he knew this was not right
He went to get a second sight

I know I have been good all year
So I should not have this Christmas fear
He came back with quite a frown
A lot of things he’s written down

It seems that taking sweets from kids
Puts your chances on the skids
Knocking on old ladies doors
He said was just a second cause

I only do these things for fun
I mean no harm to anyone
It’s not that I’m bad in the games that I play
It’s just that I’m good in a different way

I help my friends get out at night
I’ll help to start most any fight
Helping friends just can’t be wrong
And I’ve helped my friends all along

I helped Dave kiss Jenny Pearl
Although she was fat Peter’s girl
I helped Martin home by bike
It belongs to a boy I do not like

I spilt the milk and blamed my Dad
But no-one thinks that that is bad!
I ate the fruit that looked so great
That Mum was saving for the fete

My sisters toys I gave to friends
That I had hurt, to make amends
I put my peas in Dad’s best shoes
They tasted fowl, what else to use?

So you see, quite good all year
I should not have this boycott fear
It’s not that I’m bad in the games that I play
It’s just that I’m good in a different way!
