The roses that were planted long ago
Have gained in strength and beauty with your care
And now each spring they start a perfect show
Of all your love for one no longer there

You’ve filled each bloom with love for one who died
Before she saw the fruits of what she made
Well watered by the tears that you have cried
And tended by the love that you’ve displayed

Within your heart you cannot be alone
For she is part of you until you die
The part of you that’s her has always known
That you would be the apple of her eye

So when you see the beauty of each rose
The love you hold inside you always shows

Author notes
A roses can hold a beautiful memory
