She walked with me but never saw my views
Beside me she was on a different path
I should have seen the lonely aftermath
She wasn’t keen on walking in my shoes

I walked with her but did not see the clues
The destinations changed unknown to us
And I was never one to make a fuss
She did not want me walking in her shoes

Though what I have I’m not prepared to lose
I could not gain the life I hoped to lead
I have to find a new way to proceed
With one who wants to stand up in my shoes

I’d walk with you and try to see your views
I want to walk a lifetime in your shoes
