There is very little nicer than a scone with clotted cream,
A pot of tea to wash it down beside.
If your heart belongs to Devon, cream on first will be your dream
With strawberry jam above it for the ride,
But Cornish men and women like their clotted cream on show
So a lovely yellow dollop sits on home-made jam below.

There’s not much wrong with butter,it goes very well with toast,
And isn’t bad between your jam and bread,
But if perfect tea time dining is to be your special boast
You’ll need to purchase clotted cream instead.
A fresh baked scone and strawberry jam makes ordinary supreme
If complimented by a dose of English clotted cream!

Author notes

A friend in North America did not know what clotted cream was, they are heathen
lands across the pond!
