A bit of misery is underrated
We don’t need happy faces all the while
I wonder if you’ve ever contemplated
How many times you’d hate to see a smile
It’s Monday morning and it’s started raining
The train is late, it’s overcrowded too
You settle to the buzz of mute complaining
The rest are just as miserable as you
This half an hour of horrified harrumphing
Will set you up to face a busy day
A cup of tea and you’ll soon be triumphing
No matter if the sky is blue or grey
An early morning dose of dire distress
Can set you up for evening happiness
