Sweet poetess I thank you for your words,
A tribute from the fair to warm my heart.
You sing a tune as fine as any bird’s
And bend it to the service of our art.
I know you’ll be the authoress of plays
And mould the English language to your will;
So I shall take my pen to write in praise,
Of Florida’s first daughter of the quill.
But are your lips as sweet as metered lines
And can you dance as deftly as you dream?
Together we could fashion great designs
A pair of poets sure to reign supreme.
And when your work has seen my humours fed
Will you become my partner in the bed?
Author notes
I fell asleep and the shade of Alexander Pope visited me and asked my to convey
the above to the poetess who so praised him. (Or maybe he didn’t

In reply to http://allpoetry.com/poem/4180965 as I hope Pope would have
written.
