In the rain

I want to stand beside you in the rain
To watch the garden washed by summer showers
We’d watch the water running down the drain
And see the way it bounced off all the flowers

I want to watch your tee shirt getting wet
And kiss the rain that’s settled on your nose
To hold you in a way I can’t forget
While all around the cleansing water flows

And when the rain has stopped I’d help you dry
I’d rub your hair and watch you while you changed
Perhaps you’d blush pretending you were shy
As teasing little glimpses were arranged

And then I’d hold your body close to mine
And stand beside you when the weather’s fine
