No tears will fall to stain her pretty face
No sound escapes to give herself away
Unseen behind a heavy screen of lace
As he betrays their life in foolish play
He promised her his love was hers alone
He longed to be the sparkle in her eyes
A man like him was never hers to own
She always knew his life was built on lies
Surprised to find she wields an iron resolve
In sadness but without a strong regret
Without a man the world will still revolve
A waste of time to chase a losing bet
Tomorrow she will start a better life
And leave that bastard to his loving wife
