In your service

In your service

You’d stand your ground to tell us what was right,
Though all the world was baying for your blood.
I know that you would never cede the fight
And I would stand beside you ‘gainst the flood.

I loved you on the day that we first met
And hold you Queen of all that I could be.
To die for you I never could regret
Your love arrived in time to set me free.

So I shall hoist you up upon my horse
And carry you to safety by my side.
No man will stand to block my chosen course.
So you my lady never need to hide.

The world may howl to silence what you say
But I, your knight, shall keep you safe each day.
