It’s off to town in suit and tie today
Another interview, more folk to greet
Is this the game that we are doomed to play
And all because our loved ones like to eat
I’d rather stay right here with poetry
Or watching cricket ’til the sun goes down
Then maybe you would like to join with me
And take some girls to other spots in town
I’ve pressed my shirt and wound my pocket watch
Ensured my laptop’s charged and in its bag
A brand new copy book without a blotch
I’m out the door to meet the endless drag
Right now I’m home I’ve done all I can do
These interviews can take it out of you!
