In April in a Sussex wood
The sun between the trees
A view that leaves me feeling good
And puts my heart at ease
Each year the carpet is renewed
And floats above the Earth
A colour rich and yet subdued
That shows off England’s worth
The sounds of spring are all around
And steam trains close on hand
Each year we visit sacred ground
The richest in the land
A bluebell wood’s a magic place
Where fairies love to play
And England shows its finest face
Each perfect late spring day

In case you can’t guess the wildflowers I love are Bluebells!
