Once languages enhanced communications
Just tools for helping people get along
Now languages are badges of their nations
They mostly help their peoples get things wrong
I know that language also works for beauty
With Shakespeare. Chekov, Petrach and the rest
But why do fools believe it is their duty
To fight to prove which genius was the best?
Let language start to bring us all together
Make words your friends not mortal enemies
Or ignorance becomes a mighty tether
That holds the human race down on its knees
It’s those who think they’re strong who prove they’re weak
By playing deaf when other people speak
