Don’t listen to your heart it tells you lies
It sees the world as it will never be
Then later you may find a sad surprise
At least I find that happening to me

Your heart may say that she’ll be true to you
Although your friends will say it isn’t so
The wisest thing a man can ever do
Is tell his heart the time has come to go

I never cared to do the wisest thing
My heart may lie but oh what lies they are
It tells me that I’ll always be her King
While I will treat her like a movie star

If there is lots of love behind a lie
I’ll keep on seeing life with my heart’s eye
