Look inside

It was late at night, the snow no longer falling,
And a thin and smiling Moon was there to see.
In the silent dark I knew I heard you calling,
There was nothing more like paradise for me.
Then the Sun came up in rays of silver laughter,
Making all the World seem beautiful as you.
Like the promise of a kiss and what comes after
I was there with you and everything seemed new.
Are there any other ways to say I love you,
Are there any other ways to show I care?
When the Moon is out and stars are bright above you,
If you look inside your heart you’ll see I’m there.
It was colder than the sea on Easter Morning,
When skinny dippers break their winter fast,
But your smile was invitation not a warning
And I hurried to erase the life that’s past.
Just the weather for a warming glass of sherry,
Then another in your arms beside the fire.
We are told this is the time for making merry
But to me it is the time to show desire.
Are there any other ways to say I love you,
Are there any other ways to show I care?
When the Moon is out and stars are bright above you,
If you look inside your heart you’ll see I’m there.
We will never feel the cold while we’re together,
Looking out to see the snow on winter days,
And we’ll never overheat in sunny weather,
While we hold the tunes that winter moonlight plays.
On sunny days our hearts will go out walking
Through memories of snowy days inside;
And the first time that our kisses did the talking,
And the thin and silver Moon was not defied.
Are there any other ways to say I love you,
Are there any other ways to show I care?
When the Moon is out and stars are bright above you
If you look inside your heart you’ll see I’m there.
