Love and lightning

Dark and stormy is the night
and you are by my side
As you cling to me in fright
your love won’t be denied
Lightning flashes overhead
and thunder claps resound
You cling to me within our bed
I hold the love I’ve found
Wind attacks the roofs and doors
the windows lashed by rain
Hail stones sound more like applause
the way you feel is plain
The chaos builds all round the house
Your face lies on my chest
My arms around my perfect spouse
The one I love the best
And when the storm is at its height
We love as man and wife
The act of love is always right
At any time of life
The storm will pass and all is calm
And sleep will come to you
Cuddled close in my right arm
Each storm brings love so new.
