Missing Monica

They searched for her on every inch of ground,
No stone unturned, no clue allowed to rest
But Monica was nowhere to be found.
Old Rover was a somewhat hopeless hound
Who couldn’t find a scent however pressed.
They searched for her on every inch of ground.
Then cousin Lil let out an awful sound.
Her brother thought he’d found her jogging vest
But Monica was nowhere to be found.
They’d missed her note to say “I’m Europe bound
I’m gonna spend Aunt Agatha’s bequest”,
They searched for her on every inch of ground.
The organ played, the congregation frowned,
A eulogy was read, her mem’ry blessed
But Monica was nowhere to be found.
While she drank shorts and all her stress unwound,
The golden sun sank slowly in the West.
They searched for her on every inch of ground
But Monica was nowhere to be found.
