Misunderstanding love

Is love more than a sparkle in a mind,
A random wave inside a neural net?
The source of all that’s best about mankind
The resolution of some fractal set.
Connections form in many subtle ways
That change the image that I hold of you.
Repeated use lets me reveal the maze
And turn my feelings into something new.
The rationale behind my foolish heart,
Makes not one jot of difference to me.
Such knowledge cannot take away the art
Or wipe away the beauty that I see.
To know the pigments in her cryptic smile,
Cannot reduce the Mona Lisa’s style.
