Moments

In a moment of weakness I told her the truth,
Of the way that I feel every night.
How I was afraid I was long in the tooth
And my future had passed out of sight.
In a moment of madness I gave her my heart,
In a package of love all my own.
I wonder if she’ll find a reason to start
Or if she’ll leave me, yearning alone.
In a moment of clarity I was in tune,
With the way that she feels for the world
And we kissed late at night, seen by none but the Moon,
Now I’m in her heart tightly curled.
For a lover was born in the heat of that kiss
And will live all his dreams in that moment of bliss.
