Moonlit dreams

When moonlight falls upon a sleeping dreamer
The Moon can see the stories in his head
From gambling on a Mississippi steamer
To finding there’s a lover in his bed
If moonlit dreams are ever interrupted
The Moon will try to make the dreams come true
I hope that when my sleep time is disrupted
The Moon can see the way I dream of you
The Harvest Moon knows Autumn is the right time
For romance that is dressed in golden hues
A crescent Moon that smiles on me at night-time
Gives dreams of you the brightest of reviews
So every night I wait for starry weather
And hope the Moon will weave our lives together
