Moonlit walks

Tonight and every night I’ll walk with you
And lose myself within your dreaming eyes
The nightingale will serenade on cue
And we will love beneath the moonlit skies
Then arm in arm we’ll walk the milky way
Our lips so close we seem to share each breath
We cannot be together every day
To be apart at night is like a death
The smiling Moon has lit the riverside
And read the words we write within our hearts
You kissed me on the lips and I replied
The way that every close encounter starts
The Moon and stars paint beauty overhead
But you and I now take our dreams to bed
