It’s always wrong to take a life, all killings are a curse
You should not take a gift you cannot give
But there may be a circumstance not killing’s even worse
It’s not an easy thing to learn to live
Sometimes a life becomes too hard, and dying’s all to do
But times like these are terrible indeed
Remember if you have to choose your life belongs to you
But claiming someone else’s is just greed
How can you tell a man you killed, so sorry my mistake
Or give him twenty quid to put it right
You’ll find that once his blood is spilled there’s nothing left to take
The other facts will vanish out of sight
So never think that it’s OK, it’s someone else not me
Another time the victim could be you
The man or woman that is dead should have the right to be
And those who kill should really get a clue!
