Not winning on the Lotto has become a dreadful drag,
I haven’t got a Bentley, or a Roller, or a Jag;
My house is not a mansion and I can’t afford a yacht,
I’ll have to be contented with the lot that I have got.
I’d like to lunch in Lisbon then jet home again for tea.
Spend winters in Mauritius (if that’s this year’s place-to-be)
But every week the paper prints the balls they drew in line;
They’re six quite boring numbers and they aren’t the same as mine!
But this week I’ve asked nicely and the lady on the till
Says I have bought the winner, so I’m waiting for the thrill.
Next week I’ll shop at Harrod’s and my car will be brand new —
Well all of us can dream a bit, you’ve bought a ticket too!
