No turning back

When the pain becomes too heavy,
When the burden is too great,
When you look to find the answers,
They aren’t written on a slate.
There aren’t reasons you should suffer,
There’s no reason for the pain,
Life is sometimes less than perfect,
And that knowledge is a strain.
Some may drink because they like it,
It’s a social thing to do,
But it’s never been the answer.
It can’t make more sense of you,
Love is not a simple process,
Love is not an “A to B”,
Love’s a feeling in your water,
Love’s between a you and me.
I don’t know about the outcomes,
I can’t see tomorrow’s news,
I can’t give you extra credit
That will wipe away the blues
But I know that if you’re trying
Then there has to be a chance
And the simple act of dying
Has to end the sweetest dance.
