On Sunday I shall stand in contemplation,
For those who served that others could stay free.
I have the luck to live within a nation
Where there’s a chance of peace and liberty.
Two minutes spent in thinking of those others
Whose lives are not as comfortable as mine.
Who may have lost their daughters or their brothers,
Whose sons and sisters toed the final line.
One hundred years have passed since some were certain
The war to end all conflicts had been fought.
Yet still some idiots would lift the curtain
To see more slaughter, treating it as sport.
Let’s see them stand in silence on that day
And think how they can find another way
