90!

90!

You’ve seen your hand, the strengths and weakness weighed,
The auction’s done and now you have to play.
The balance shifts with every game that’s played
And lady luck may smile or walk away.

Now trick by trick you edge towards success,
Who holds the ace you know you have to ruff?
You’re sure to win with just one neat finesse
The ace and queen, it has to be enough.

In bridge, like life, you play the cards you’re dealt,
Take every chance and know you’re going to win.
Good company’s important to the melt
But playing hard could never be a sin.

With three hearts bid and made, it’s going fine
So many bonus points above the line!

Author notes
My Aunt, a keen bridge player, is 90.
(A three hearts contract scores 90 “below the line”)
