Old and daft

I’m fond of my opinion and
the sound of my own voice
I hope that you will understand
you always have a choice
That just because I’m old and daft
it doesn’t mean I’m wrong
Could be your head is understaffed
or your own views too strong
The other option I suppose
is I have lost the plot
Many people would propose
I’m talking Tommy rot
It doesn’t matter either way
I’m happy as the fool
Life is a game I choose to play
by following this rule
I’ll always let my fellows know
the way things seem to be
Then they can choose to stay or go
and hear or not hear me
