I’m fed up with the weather being cold
A gloomy grey has spread to everything
This winter’s face is looking rather old
It’s time we had a little hint of spring

A crocus or a snowdrop bursting through
The robins with an early morning song
Or any clue that there is something new
To tell me that the year has moved along

But then tonight the Moon has donned a veil
And frost has touched the fingers on the trees
I love the silver clouds when I exhale
That sparkle as they scatter on the breeze

The winter has a beauty all its own
But freezing toes will always make me moan!
