With an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth
There’s only one outcome I see,
Since most of humanity’s largely uncouth
Rough justice is one certainty.
The worst and the best will be caught in the trap
And errors are bound to be made
A slap in the face brings another harsh slap
A blade means you’ll die by the blade.
When justice goes wrong then the judge will be judged
His error turned back on himself
Unless you are happy to have your rule fudged
There’s soon no-one left on the shelf
When every last citizen’s jumped through your hoop
The land’s full of blind people living on soup …
