As the dawn fills the air with suggestions of treasure
The sounds of a brook tempt me into a sigh
Bilberries giving my taste buds their pleasure
A high tarn is always a treat for the eye

I don’t have to go there to know that it’s healing
My senses are tuned to its magical spells
When I close my eyes then I’m instantly feeling
Its grass at my feet and I’m smelling its smells

The clouds scud above me flecked gold by the dawning
The breeze has a bite and a scent of the night
A mountain is heaven when kissed by the morning
A walk in the lakelands makes everything right

Author notes
A tarn is a small lake in the English Lake district. There are many very very
beautiful tarns in impossible locations.
