Succulent berries that tingle and taste
With cream and with ice-cream so handily placed
So right when you eat them so wrong on the waist
Strawberries are perfect in June

My share of the pickings are place in this bowl
The big ones need biting the small go in whole
But all of my portion is good for the soul
Strawberries are perfect in June

So join me this evening at pick-your-own fruit
They give you some punnets, a map of the route
You’ll soon feel quite ill if you’re eating the loot
Strawberries are perfect in June

They weigh what you take home, ignore what you ate
You wanted three pounds but you somehow picked eight
It’s really no matter they’ll all taste so great
Strawberries are perfect in June

We’ll sit at the table and share what we eat
The evening a change from the day’s summer heat
Then something more spicy when supper’s complete
Strawberries are perfect in June
