perfection

She doesn’t have the perfect shape
She’s not the ideal size
Her lunch is chips and not a grape
She’s just right in my eyes.

Her hair is not dressed twice a day
No airbrush changed her face
Her hips have just a little sway
I want her near my place

Her clothes are nice, but not “right now”
Those jeans are off the peg
Yet everything is right somehow
She makes me want to beg

She looks me straight between the eyes
She doesn’t call me fat
I know her praise is sometimes lies
There’s nothing wrong with that

I see no fault if she is wrong
And she sees none in me
That’s just the way we get along
And how it ought to be

I feel a buzz when others stare
And think “you lucky man”
I see this happen everywhere
I’m just her biggest fan

I cannot think there’s any way
To make a better girl
This pure perfection everyday
Has left me in a whirl

I wouldn’t swap the merest part
I wouldn’t even try
You see she’s stolen all my heart
The twinkle in my eye.

Author notes
Written as a contest entry for a contest run by JinSays but it closed before I
finished i, don’t you hate it when that happens?
However JinSays is a perfect lady and now the poem is in the contest
