Playing games

She looked at me the way that lovers do
That’s all it took to change my life that night
She kissed my lips and instantly I knew
That all the rest of life would be all right
Two lovers setting out to find the way
Discovering that all they said was true
She asked me in and then she said “lets play”
I closed the door and showed her what to do
This happened twenty years ago this week
We’ve learned so many games we both can win
From noughts and crosses played upon her cheek
To painting chocolate pictures on her skin
I have to go she says she’s found some rope
A ping pong bat and something made from soap
