The poems that I like the best
Are ones that make me smile
They contain a little bit of play
And they have a lively style.
I like rhymes with quite short lines
And a simple rhyming scheme
They won’t be very meaningful
Or work up a head of steam
They could be about lovely ladies
Or friends I like to tease
They may mention food or cricket
And they should be aimed to please.
