Pollen counting

On days like these old Mother Nature teases
By spreading little presents through the air
She parcels up such unexpected sneezes
I find them waiting for me everywhere

The trees and grasses that she’s happy showing
Are pleased to help her play her little game
All day my tickly nose has needed blowing
And Mother Nature’s pollen is to blame

I’m still in love with days so warm and sunny
But do we need the games these flowers play
My colleagues seem to think it rather funny
That I explode half hourly everyday

Don’t be too grateful for the summer breeze
It’s all that’s left of yet another sneeze!
