Poor Gordon Brown!

Poor Gordon Brown will not step down
Although it’s clear he lost
He’d even stay for half the pay
And never count the cost
He didn’t think the ship would sink
Despite the holes he made
He thought that we would never see
The ways we’d been betrayed
He tried so hard and played each card
Now can’t believe he failed
No other eyes show such surprise
His ending was well trailed
Poor Gordon Brown will not step down
Although it’s clear he lost
He’d even stay for half the pay
And never count the cost
That old fox Blair did not play fair
He led through easy times
And quickly left while lies and theft
Were thought his largest crimes
He left his friend to try to mend
A chasm ten miles wide
With worn out tools, a crew of fools
And string to stem the tide
Still Gordon Brown will not step down
Or else the World would see
An ape or two would surely do
A better job than he!
