Pork Chops and Tea!

Pork chop and Yorkshire pudding safe inside,
A heap of peas to keep them company,
There’s apple juice but I know I’ll decide,
I really need another cup of tea.
A day at work, with just a snack for lunch,
Will never be my perfect recipe —
But now I’m home and harbouring a hunch;
It’s time I had another cup of tea.
There’s hours to fill before it’s supper time,
Until that hits there’s no more food for me,
I’ll turn my thoughts to writing formal rhyme,
And looking for another cup of tea.
And when you’ve read this foolish poetry
Perhaps you’ll join me for a cup of tea!
