possibly the worst sonnet on AP

I don’t even know why I want to write
A sonnet to display my love for rhyme
Although I think one day that I just might
I do not think today will be that time
This rhythm slow and soft does not suite me
I like a much more dancy beat in verse
And though my rhyme is good my metre’s free
And so my sonnets always look much worse
But I shall try and try and try again
A stubborn poet who can rhyme at will
And maybe if I do perchance obtain
A sonnet worthy of a little thrill
I can get back to the verse that I love
And give this form a final deadly shove
Author notes
I have been trying to write a half decent sonnet for decades, and as this
shows, I still cannot.
