Reading in bed

Reading in bed

I lie beside you watching as you read
Your eyes caress the page and scan each line
A smile conveys you also feel my need
Yet I must wait while mysteries untwine

Your naked breast awaits the final page
Its nipple dances with each breath you take
The final chapter always takes an age
A silent reverie I’ll never break

Turn back a page, then finally you smile
You close the book, and place it by the bed
Uncurl yourself, in such a winning style
And smile that smile I know would wake the dead

The fantasy you lived now dead and gone
The bedside light turns off and we turn on

Still working on this
