Someone said you loved me
and the sky grew bigger
bluer, brighter.
My feet
stopped touching the ground,
fingers ran down my spine
fairies danced and stars
shone in the daylight.
Someone said you loved me
and I heard birds sing
over the crowds,
heard gulls call
from cliffs
and parrots chatter your name.
Someone said you loved me
and time stopped
while my heart raced
trying to catch my breath.
Someone said you loved me
and I smiled
and told them I loved you too.
