Saving More Than Time

The hour is lost, but not the day or week;
Consuming beauty’s not a waste of time
Lost in the view there is no need to speak
And rushing past would be the only crime.
Between the peaks the valley’s deep and green
The tumbling stream adds blues and whites and greys
A thousand shades combine to paint the scene
That changes and remains through summer’s days.
Now time returns, reality must reassert its rule
There’s work to do and places we should be.
This perfect place remains, a secret tool
For keeping life in touch with sanity.
The other way would save an hour or more
But who believes that’s all the road is for?
